Elvin J Carey Living Memorial, a non-profit community organization in Chicago, Illinois, honors the legacy of Elvin J Carey, Sr., the first African American elected Commander of the Department of Illinois, American Legion. With over 37 years of experience, our organization is dedicated to supporting children, youth, veterans, and their families through a variety of impactful programs. Our community center offers athletic and Americanism programs, town hall meetings, and economic services for veterans. We also conduct monthly food giveaways, provide scholarships for children, and assist veterans with their needs. 

Our goal also is to foster a supportive environment where young people can learn about their civic duties and veterans can access essential resources. We believe in the power of community and civic engagement. We host a range of events and educational initiatives designed to promote civic education and scholarship opportunities.
